Radiant Whispers

There is a voice inside me
my life mate,guide
a best friend
she is my biggest critic
and my ardent fan
she sings lullabies
whispers mischiefs
chides me when i am being off the track
haunts till i mend my ways
this voice inside me….
“Go,Now is the time
keep going, this is not your stop
no don’t,
yes this
good for you but make sure no one is hurt”
this voice inside me….
she gives me ideas and tips
inspires and encourages me
calls me lazy when i am being sloth
shouts, get up girl time waits for no one
this voice inside me……
she tells me to have faith when am in a long dark tunnel
patience when i am trapped in chaos
tells me “come on try just one more time”,
says “now is the time to quit you have done enough”
this voice inside me…..
she asks me all the what’s,when’s and why’s
she asks me are you sure there is no other way out
tells me hundred things under a sunlit sky
a thousand things in a cold dark moonless night
this voice inside me……
this voice just like others but so different
never shy to ask or challenge
doesn’t wait to hug me and make me smile
yells at me what i need to hear
this voice inside me……
gives me courage, reminds me of all the old great stories and examples
tells me smile, frown won’t help
tells me it’s ok you can howl now
I hate her sometimes
and i love her for being fair
i know that i need her
for what will be this body without
this voice inside me

About Soma Mukherjee

I often say things that put me in a jam, Jams go well with Buttered Toasts, Toasts are great hosts, Ghosts not so much, Although they can dance, Not all dancers are serial killers, Serial killers do not use Body bags that often, body bags aren't leak proof, Proof is in the Pudding.

    Very well written Soma.
Your post gives me peace, and reminds me that I am never alone for the voice within is always with me…like a guiding star, like a pillar of support, like a mantle of protection, and like a gush of emotions.
    Loved the post. 🙂

  8. Terrific work. As usual your poetry goes to the heart and inner voice of a person. And perhaps not surprisingly that voice is one of encouragement. What a good start to my day!

As I read your poem, Soma dear, the above thoughts sprinkled down. Lovely 🙂

  11. Soma, i read your poem twice because it was so deeply sincere and introspctive, beautiful, shy, open…but so very pure and reassuring! It was so pleasant to read and embrace. Its a poem that leaves one satisfied inside after reading! Beautifully done!

  13. Dear Soma,
This is fantastic! Very well captured thoughts about our super ego functioning:) As a psych, I could not agree more about postive thinking …with what ever symbolism it goes for each person……( be it paramarhma or antharathma)

“tells me hundred things under a sunlit sky
a thousand things in a cold dark moonless
    night”…. fantastic!

    Awesome my dear:)

  31. Of course, it is beautiful! It came from within you.
My voice has changed since the stroke…I think I like it more now.
Perhaps, it just doesn’t have to speak out as much.
I have learned a lot of things just aren’t true and I don’ t need to hear them anymore.
