Meanwhile in India

Round and round the world spins and wonders if this is what made the humans lose it.

All you have to do is turn on some news channel or read the morning paper. Lies and Half truths rule and whatever is left is pure madness. The circus that is Politics has affected every part of our life and while every country has got their share of buffoons in the government, the ones that are found here are  kings of corruption and stupidity.

Recent events  inspired me to draw some cartoons. Sharing some bits with you all 🙂

1) With rise in crimes against women and kids, a baba well-known for speeches against women, mostly on how women should stay in their limits n all, came up with an unique solution.

cool-cartoon-6434009

2) Northern India is going through troubled times, caused by human indifference and natures fury. And while Indian Army is giving more than 500% rescuing, helping those who are affected, politicians are on a different tangent all together. The cartoon depicts the ugly fist fight two politicians got into, to decide who will get credit for rescuing the people of a particular state.

cool-cartoon-6433452

3) And oh safety of women is top on politicians agendas, don’t believe me, fine look at what an Aam aadmi ( common man) party neta said while asking for vote-

cool-cartoon-6433451

4)  If you are one of those who think Government is burdening you with unrealistic hike in prices of commodities, Think again you useless people!

cool-cartoon-6433442a

5) Now the best for the last.  Due to shortage of toilets local administration has made it mandatory that Future grooms in Sehore district submit a picture of grooms along with their toilets to get registered for mass marriage ceremonies and avail benefits under MKY. And oh open toilets not accepted. whoaaa right!!

hmm Earth may be right , all these years of spinning on axis has affected us, Rotation thou Art bitchy

Take care every body, Men stop fussing over nothings like price hike and Women please don’t get raped- UNDERSTOOD!

About Soma Mukherjee

I often say things that put me in a jam, Jams go well with Buttered Toasts, Toasts are great hosts, Ghosts not so much, Although they can dance, Not all dancers are serial killers, Serial killers do not use Body bags that often, body bags aren't leak proof, Proof is in the Pudding.

This is an excellent read, Somkritya. I have wondered of the women raped daily in India, and what is happening now after the media has lost interest.

I wish so much your cartoons would be freshly pressed. They speak loud, clear.

  4. Hi, Soma. Where have I been? I am not getting notified of posts. UGH! Yes, we in the US are in competition with you in our congress and your parliament for which country has more buffoons! And, your Bapa has lots of competition in our Congress! Yes, the world is screwed up. Or, maybe we just know more about how awful it is now. I don’t know. I found you on the About.me website. I have no idea what it is, but I’m on there now. Hahaha! This is a great post, Soma. You always manage to hit the nail squarely on the head in your cartoons!

As always I have enjoyed your cartoons Soma, they are very funny and gigglesome but then there is the seriousness attached, where mans ridiculousness and shambolic politics collide into a blend of pure madness. The women of India should have protection and be safe, not suffer at the hands of evil fiends, ugly scenes where a woman can be subjected to public humiliation and cruelty.

Your drive and commitment towards a better, and indeed a kinder future for all Indian women is second to none my great friend. i just wish the politicians would get a grip and do the right things, we can all live in hope 🙂 🙂

Have a lovely rest of weekend my great friend and be safe 🙂

It is always such a sad experience in life as nobody seems to act until someone has suffered, or worse and I know that the suffering of women in India continues, this truly must be addressed and obliterated from society in order to move in a positive direction. I just wish it were sooner rather than later so that no other women have to suffer the consequences of a weak government and the failure to protect its citizens.

All men and women should be equal everywhere but alas this is not the case at the present, so it is a time for change my great friend Soma and not for sometime later, I mean for the now 🙂

        Have a lovely Monday 🙂

Excellent work not only hitting your area perfect but also more world wide…

In my eyes there is nothing manhood in rape of women – on the contrary – there are many animals that behave more civilized – authorities who covering these abuses or protect them – should be held accountable for human rights tribunal in the Netherlands and assimilated to war criminals… :-/

  13. In principle I have to agree that none of our so called advanced societies are any better than what you describe here. I’d like to get rid of some of the losers we have here in political circles too. Hopefully we can do that in September when Australia is due for one too. Keep poking them with your cartoons. We do that too. LOL

  15. The human race, in general, is on the down slope. Populations can’t think for themselves; people vote only for politicians who will give them anything for free; there is no love of country “en-mass”; instigators are starting riots and wars around the globe; genocide is alive and well; and-on-and-on. Very sad.

  21. Sad but true. It seems politicians everywhere are completely out of touch with reality. The system is more than broken, but the politicians continue to get rich on the backs of the rest of us and are not likely to change things..

  23. Such blatant corruption, greed, and mindless inhumanity is a bad sign; when such men don’t even find it prudent to hide their actions. It is sad that a nation of such rich history and diversity of people and land should find itself unable to curtail such things. Or unwilling.

I am a great admirer of Gahdiji and I can’t help but think of the grief he would feel at hearing news such as this. As an American; India and The Mahatma are inseparable in my mind. I seem to always ask myself; what would he think about this or that; much as I also do Jesus.
But especially when the news is of his homeland.

Such things happen everywhere Soma. Right now, your nation is going through a period of some kind of imbalance; a spiritual void. Such conditions call evil men to the front. Such conditions cause good men to falter. I believe there is something wrong; missing; twisted in these men’s lives, perhaps in the people’s lives. I don’t know but I am guessing you are able to discern what it is more precisely. But as my former friend always said when I would despair.
“Keep breathing. All will be well”; (LOL); which is to say; “This too shall pass” But it could perhaps pass faster if the cause is addressed.
Of course I grieve with you at the level of inhumanity you and you countrymen are being forced to witness.
    Namaste

    • You know I always say that the administration, the government we are criticizing have not come from outer space they are in a way what we are..only they now have unlimited power to take the indifference and abuse to new heights
if we want our country to change for good, we have to change our callous indifferent attitude towards others too..
      Thanks 🙂

    • Thank you so much Vishal, the Guru AKA Aasaaram Bapu is one slimy creature
and what bothers me most is the way women follow/worship him, knowing very well his thoughts about womenkind

  26. Look Soma, it’s quite simple. The men in charge know what to do for the best. Women can’t understand such things – they are just for cooking and raising children and looking pretty. God made us that way – didn’t you know? And God is a man, everybody knows that, right?

  29. Soma I loved every cartoon. Brilliant satire. Just yesterday, while driving, I was trying to imagine a world that was totally different. A report says tha over 70% of people are unhappy with their jobs. No wonder! We don’t have time to LIVE our lives. If only long ago, in the beginning, man choose to share its wealth, sustain beauty and love all unconditionally. How beautiful this world could have been for EVERYONE.
