A Valentine Run

We were born to love
We were born love
And those who do not believe
Let us show them how
And bring them back
In the wet kisses of a baby and the baby talks
In the curled kitten resting on the lap
In the girl sharing secrets with her doll
In kid covered in mud smiling cos he saved a little puppy
In the father double checking the door locks every night
We were born to love
We were born love
And those who do not….
In the friend who stood by you
In the teacher who taught how to finger paint
In the storybooks taking us on a journey every where
In grandmothers hug in “war against parents”
In all the expected and unexpected gifts
We were born to love
We were born love
And those who do not……
In the first love and sleepless nights
In comforting coziness of the old ones
In the fight over remotes and car keys
In every I will never talk to you again and sulking over it
In the old couple walking on the street
We were born to love
We were born love
And those who do not….
In going through old letters and pictures
In going through marriage pics and smiling at some thoughts
In the first summer sun
In the first winter month
In the seasons and celebrations
We were born to love
We were born love
And those who do not believe in love
Let us bring them back
For we are earth mates
Souls of same sphere
So this valentine
Gather your friends and run
Run for every soul you have ever loved
for the library, bookstore, garden or park
Plant a tree in their name
And spread love and warmth
Let’s bring smile on every face we can
Let us bring all the lost souls back
And celebrate Love

About Soma Mukherjee

I often say things that put me in a jam, Jams go well with Buttered Toasts, Toasts are great hosts, Ghosts not so much, Although they can dance, Not all dancers are serial killers, Serial killers do not use Body bags that often, body bags aren't leak proof, Proof is in the Pudding.

    • I love Miss Somas poetry so much we are now to read it out loud to our small group of families who meet weekly. One of the beauties of shared poetry, prose or writing is in sharing. To commercialise beauty in any form, is in my humble opinion, a sin.

In a world where little remains free of Mammon, places and people such as this remain a beacon for freedom and liberty. A place of enrichment, growth and nurture. Long may it stay that way 🙂

@ Cromswellhead: I agree with your view — for I am the last person who would encourage commercialisation, it is quite obvious on my blog as to what my beliefs are. Soma and I share certain jokes, and the message was intended for some humour. Of course, Soma is a very talented writer and a precious sister, sorry if my comment came across as a notion to commercialise her work. Thank you for your views and I am in total agreement, dear Cromswellhead. Ah, I must be cautious in my jokes… cheers.

        • Madam, I meant no offence and hope none was taken by my remarks! I think my views sometimes come across strongly, particularly in print. Please forgive me, I am after all, a mere man!
