Oh so you want to listen to a story
guess what, i have a beautiful story
a story you have never ever heard
and what a lovely story is it
this story i have in my pouch
but before i tell you about this story
let me tell you what this is about
so knock on your ears
and tell them to wake up
and finish that hot chocolate
while i tell you more
§
so this story is about mmmm
it is about a butterfly who escaped a net
and flew and danced around
it is about that caterpillar in the bottle
who munched on leaves and asked for a sandwich
its is about that zebra who went to get a tattoo
and got stripes and now is suing the jungle tattoo joint
it is about summer sun
and how a cloud changed its scorching heart
it is about the singing moon
and how stars danced all night
it is about flying monkeys
who flew only in the winter nights( why?…ask them )
§
and how two little kids danced and giggled
watching a happy free butterfly dance in the garden
how a little piece of sandwich which someone put in the jar
teased a caterpillars taste buds and he decided he wanted more of that
how the jungle court found the tattoo bar guilty
and told them to draw a beautiful pink butterfly on zebras head
( ouch did he want that ! )
how two big elephants enjoyed the first shower
when a cloud saved them from the summer heat that year
how two kittens and their friends
purred whole night listening to the singing moon
how some fruits traveled miles
along with the flying monkeys in a winter night
§
it is about everything under the sun
and mischievous waves which imitated his rage behind his back
oh i could go on and on with
what else this story is about
but now that you are yawning so loud
may be i should keep the real story
for some other time
and hey do not forget to call the lions in your dreams
( sometimes no matter how hard you try nothing comes to mind and your kids look at you, waiting for a new story..this was one of those and i added a bit to it today…but there are days i just make up stories about what a great story i have 🙂 )
Hi Soma, it is always a delight to visit your blog. I love the way you write. It’s always refreshing and fun! Love & hugs xox
Thank a ton Maryanne 🙂
This story sounds like it will be great when you get around to telling that cool part that came before that other cool part that all leads to the great part right before that awesome climax! Waiting for more, Soma! 🙂
No no no I am not yawning…please continue… I want to hear more stories! Soma are you a teacher? If so I can imagine what a treat it must be for all the children to hear you, listen to you :)…god you make such wonderful stories ! Keep them coming 🙂
Hugs!
Your kids are so lucky to have you tell them stories. I loved it too. You have a wonderful imagination. 🙂 🙂 🙂

As a kid (or an adult), how could you not be entertained by all of that? Flying monkeys and tattooed zebras? C’mon! That’s awesome!
Great piece of work! Thanks again for offering to cover my book; I’d be honored!
Just let me know if I can help in any way…
My children would have been much better of with these stories than the ones I told them I think. So sweet and so wonderful! Do you think if I set them on my lap and told my grandson your stories he would turn out less twisted than his father and his uncle? 😉
(My sons are actually very nice young me they just have twisted humor)
lol Val i am a huge dexter fan ….and i have woven this story..so really dunno what to say 😆
Thanks a ton 🙂
wow if this is how you are churning RANDOM story.. I wonder how it will be if you thought and made one out .. a STOREY MAKER in the making I will say ..

Can I listen to it again pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

It was as always with all you write…Just simply wonderful fun Soma! 🙂 You have got the gift to keep us entertained and wondering just what you will write next. Bonita is so blessed indeed, she hears all these fun stories first, you are the best of Moms! 🙂 Hugs
Gabbyiiiiiiiiii i love youooooo
i know i sound like a mad but i am mad you know that..just love you 🙂
effective use twists and curves in composition
Thank s Carl 🙂
Ugh. So, I read this yesterday and wrote a comment which apparently disappeared into the mist or the spam filter….
I love these. I make up things for my children all the time. What is more amazing is their embellishments to the stories after I am through. They repeat them back with all their little characterizations added and extra plot twists….Too much fun.

Being in my fourth childhood, this story worked extremely well for me, Soma! I love the stripe-tattooed zebra and the sandwich munching catepillar! So what’s not to like here?
I love this.
It’s beautiful…
Well, for a person who is running out of stories Soma dear – you come up with some lovelies. Pink elephants I’ve heard – but pink kangaroos. OMG what next, I shudder 🙂
Soon your BABY will be the fan of your stories. Lucky child.
he, he, Silly Zebra and silly Soma….love your child-heart and quirky-love. xoxoxo Sam
Lovely story….:) Now I have one to tell my niece too…:) God…kids I tell you…I always fall short of stories! My mother says the same about me when I was a kid…! Well, they are a curious lot. 🙂
My favorite lines from the poem:
it is about a butterfly who escaped a net
and flew and danced around
it is about that caterpillar in the bottle
who munched on leaves and asked for a sandwich.
Awesome post!
A very lyrical little story, filled with wonder!
I was thinking the same thing that Stuart just said! This is just wonderful, Soma. What a delightful world view you have. And what a lucky child to claim you a mama! 🙂
George i was a very boring person and Bonita changed me…now both of us are a Mad Force. lol
Thanks George:)
You, boring? I cannot imagine such a thing. Whatever inspired that singular, magical world view is a good thing! Write that book… 🙂
I agree with George above 😉
I loved this, Soma, and how you wove all the animals into this story about the story you have! I chuckled and smiled all the way through! Very clever, as you always are, and I’m sure your daughter is in awe of just how wonderful her Mom is! Hugs to you, sista! xoxo
